Progressive Dental Care

The number one health problem diagnosed in cats and dogs over four years of age is periodontal disease. Dental disease is painful and puts stress on your pet’s immune system and may lead to serious liver, kidney, and heart diseases. We provide an extensive dental care program. Ultrasonic scaling is performed above and below the gum line, followed by a thorough polishing and deep cleaning of every tooth in their mouth. X-rays of the full mouth with small amounts of radiation, is used to see the inside of your pet’s teeth and areas below the gum line that are hidden from view. Unfortunately, our pets can not tell us their teeth are diseased, and some animals never show that they are in pain. X-rays are the only way for a veterinarian to know if any necessary extractions are needed, and cleaning an animal’s teeth without x-rays can often result in missed opportunities to improve the quality of life and health of your pet.
